Blog: 5 Staples In My Makeup Bag

November 5th, 2021

As the weather continuously gets colder, we find ourselves adapting our makeup bags. Nonetheless, there are some staples that remain all year round. These are my personal favorite makeup products at the moment although the eyeshadow palette is probably my all time favorite (I cannot do a lot of eye makeup in general). I used to be a huge fan of matte lipstick but now that my lips have seemingly become perpetually dry I only wear Pillow Talk with a chapstick underneath and the FENTY lipgloss on top. (Keep an eye out for my holiday gift guide coming soon).

  1. Tarte Tartlette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette

The neutral colors here are incredibly pigmented and good for all year round and can be used subtly or played up for a night out. This palette is perfect for makeup novices to experts alike. There is a faint vanilla scent and very minimal fallout and the shimmers, especially the shade ‘Funny Girl’ are one of my all-time favorites. This palette is cruelty free and vegan and as someone with extremely sensitive eyes it does not bother me.

  1. Milk Makeup Mini Lip + Cheek Cream Blush Stick

Blush is one of my favorite products especially cream blush. I love this one because it’s clean, can be built up for pigmentation, and lasts all day. I really like that it is a stick because it is great to throw in your bag for on the go and it is fun for experimenting with different blush placements. It can be used on the eyes and lips as well as the cheeks for a cute monochromatic look and you get a ton of product for $20.

  1. ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer

I have combination skin that tends to run on the dry side during the winter. I do not like to wear a whole lot of makeup under my mask but like to cover up some of my post-acne marks and redness. This concealer is full coverage, and hydrating leaving a glowy finish. It is good for dark circles, acne, redness, pigmentation; pretty much any skin concern. For the most part, this concealer does not transfer. If transferring is something you are worried about, setting it with some powder does the trick without sacrificing that glow.

  1. FENTY BEAUTY By Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer

I have so many things to say about this lip gloss. It is my baby, I do not leave the house without it. I bought it in the shade Fu$$y and let me say that it is the prettiest mauvy-pink color that looks good on everyone. It is vegan and has shea butter for moisture. It smells like vanilla cupcakes and is not sticky the way other glosses are. Though it is on the pricey side I have not found a gloss that compares.

  1. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick (Pillow Talk)

This is probably the singular lipstick I will ever wear for the rest of my life. The second you put it on you feel a million times more confident. It is the prettiest pink though it is matte it is not drying and certainly nothing a good chapstick and lip gloss combo cannot fix. Though it is on the pricey side, Sephora has a ton of awesome gift sets from Charlotte Tilbury where you can get lipgloss in the same shade. There is also a mini matching lipstick and liner set in the shade; the mini has a ton of product and the liner is fantastic.
